Slee Blackwell’s Braunton office is one of the firm’s oldest branch offices. The firm can trace its roots back to well before the war and has occupied its current premises for more than 30 years.

Often said to be one of the largest villages in England, Braunton has developed in recent years to become a hub of the South West’s burgeoning surf scene

Saunton Sands, which is an international-standard surfing beach, is located nearby, while other surfing beaches at Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe are all within easy reach. Braunton is also home to the Museum of British Surfing which opened in 2012. Several major UK surf brands are associated with Braunton. These include Tiki and Salt Rock.

Braunton is famed for its Great Field, a rare surviving example of the medieval strip field system. This is how much of Britain was once farmed, with a large area divided into hundreds of strips of land. It is believed that the Braunton Great Field was divided into strips in 855 and many of those original unenclosed strips can still be seen today.

Braunton is close to Barnstaple where our head office is located. It is surrounded by a number of villages, including Saunton, Knowle, Wrafton, Lobb, Ashford, Fullabrook and Buckland.

The Braunton office is managed by Stephanie Morris who specialises in residential property transactions, both freehold and leasehold.

We also deal with wills, estate administration and powers of attorney at our Braunton office, with specialist lawyers on hand in Barnstaple to deal with litigation cases (such as inheritance disputes, injury claims and professional negligence) as well as commercial and family law.
